My College Roommate's Wedding

Celebrated my college roommate's marriage this month in the college town where we all met! I wanted to commemorate her classy celebration, because it was a fun mini-reunion with gorgeous florals!

 

 

Borrowed my sister's Yoshi's floppy sunhat. My face mask was a gift from my friend Joanna's mum! My sweater's from Uniqlo. The skirt and heels are Talbots, and both are thrifted. Handbag was gift from my mum (Coach)

The groom hand carved and made their hexagon altar!

 

Sage green is seriously pretty and the hottest colour of the year!

Dinner was veggie lasagna with garlic bread, au gratin potatoes, and a slice of garlic bread.

The bride's mom graciously provided handmade face masks and jar openers as wedding favors!

 Dessert was strawberry cake with macarons (pictured are lemon and passion fruit)!

Innisfree Daily UV Defense Sunscreen SPF 36 - Korean brand. This sunscreen applies smoothly with no whitecast and no fragrance. Works for sensitive skin too. Sephora

Supergoop Play Everyday Lotion SPF 50 -  American/USA brand. This sunscreen brand is a new favorite. It's creamy and moisturizing! Sephora

KOSE Sekkisei Sun Protect Gel SPF 50 - This Japanese company's chemical sunscreen's texture is gel-like and applies very smoothly. This is a water-resistant sunscreen, which can be removed by daily cleanser. Yesstyle

  

Shiseido Anessa Perfect UV SPF 50 (not pictured) - Famous Japanese brand. Milky texture sunscreen so it applies easily and smoothly. Yesstyle

Exuviance Professional Sheer Refining Fluid SPF 40 - Randomly tried this out since it was on-sale at Marshall's. No fragrance, and occasionally pills upon application. Amazon / Harvey Prince

Worst Sunscreen: Biossance Squalane + Mineral SPF 45 (not pictured) - Applies very white and cakey, so not good for melanated people.

Loving Lavender

Lavender has many health benefits and smells amazing, so I wanted to spotlight this wonderful plant. I own a bunch of lavender products stuff! The scent isn't over powering and I haven't had any allergic reactions.

Loving Spring

We took advantage of our spring weather by getting serotonin from a weekend of outdoor picnics! Def rec making it IG worthy with flowers, food, and friends!

To save time, I bought most of the food from a local bakery and Costco.

We up-recycled these flowers from a friend's wedding!

To save money, this floral blanket was thrifted for $5!

March Manicure

Even though it's March, the weather is still downcast with cool days, so I kept this month's manicure dark and moody, unlike my personality 😉.

Zoya is an amazing nail polish brand, because the formula dries quickly, the colour is well-pigmented, and their products are free of toluene, formaldehyde, DBP and camphor.

This dark color was achieved with only 2 coats! I'm not a huge fan of matte, so I'm glad this black has a slight glimmer to it.

TIP: Buy nail polish in a mini size, because it's cheaper and it's hard to use a full bottle before it goes bad!
