Plato's Closet

I've made it a mission to visit my favorite stores while here, and my first stop yesterday was to an Antique Mall, then straight to Plato's Closet. I was lucky enough to have a friend drive, and even luckier that on Game Day Plato's gives 15% off school gear.

But in even better news, with a valid student ID you get 15% off all items. Here's a moment where being a student is wonderful!

I spent most of the day sweating my face off, which is fine considering that was my exercise.
For the whole week.

Even now I think about these vintage Chinese Laundrys! The heel shape and Mary-Jane style is so charming, I can't believe they didn't immediately leave with me. Perfect fit and so 'Clueless' I'm looking for a chance to go back and snatch them up!

Made it to Plato's Closet and tried on a million things. The selection was relatively large, and this dress made it amongst my favorites. However I couldn't make up my mind about it... so instead I bought:

All the detail and SCALLOPED BOTTOM I couldn't NOT take this back with me... !

Cynthia Rowley top, Victoria's Secret PINK leggings, University of Kansas t-shirt

Each item was less than $6, what was I supposed to do? I think it a rarity I only left with these three items!

'Twas 84º...

and FIIINALLY the temperature has cooled down! Following a week of 100s, I think today was well-deserved.

Also, if it could just be like this everyday, that'd be great.
I almost threw a meme in here but decided this picture would be even better:

You just never know what you're going to find when thrifting! I'd say this is a downside (only because I'm not too keen on wearing Pop-tarts) but the upside is a potential J.Crew cutie:

The blue Maritime dress from J.Crew is from a couple years ago, yet I still find it very relevant. Can't wait to wear it for spring, and autumn!

Since I came home for the weekend, my mother and I picked up another score:

1D in KC

I'm We're going to overlook the fact that I spent way too much money and energy on this trip, and instead freak-out about my magical, once-in-a-lifetime experience in Kansas City. For starters, I have bruises all over my legs... which makes no sense since I was only fist-pumping and jumping all over the place (okay so maybe there's a little sense).

Putting my haul off 'til later, since it covers the majority of my queen-size bed (this might be a problem), I wanted to share some shots of what we did and where we went!

The Country Club Plaza, or The Plaza for short, is KC's premiere shopping center. Burberry, American Apparel, H&M, J. Crew, Tiffany & Co., and many many more all reside there in Modern-Tuscan buildings. I was floored!

If anyone knows how to make a display, it's Kate Spade.

This worker looked too cute! She graciously talked about her necklace and favorite items. That dresss~

How siick are this woman's shoes?! I'm smitten. From Aldo Shoes.

If I had $2,294 this Burberry jacket would have left on my back. Sadly, it was blazing hot and my debit card was crying in a corner. The studs, the leather, the zippers, oh my!

Concert gear! For those who aren't Directioners/Fangirls/Obsessed/Insane, the shirts are play on lyrics from different One Direction songs. I'm sportin' the cobalt blue shorts, a small portion of my haul from KC.

I'm still sore from the concert on Friday, so I must go recline and figure out whether or not the whole weekend was real..

I CANNOT HANDLE ANYTHING ANYMORE THEY ARE PERFECT AND I'M IN LOVE WITH EVERYTHING ABOUT THEM SO MANY FEELS.

'Twas 74º...

... and the morning weather tricked me.

Usually I swear to continue my summer clothing well until it's too cold, however this morning was just too nippy and I was forced to pull out this beautiful, plum sweater (you'd never guess that it cost me less than $5).

Needless to say, the sun eventually woke up and did its job.

Oh well, at least I was comfy.
And hot.
But comfy.

Plus, turns out the InStyle issue waiting for me at home agrees with what I'm wearing! I'm some sort of fashion fortune-teller.

*Please forgive me again for missing a Motivational Monday! I spent, literally, the whole day on a massive field trip. I got home, showered, and just fell asleep somewhere..*

Everyday Shoes

I love my heels, wedges and boots. But for everyday walking I prefer the following:

I know podiatrists and some bloggers abhor flip-flops 'cause they give your feet no support or protection. But personally, for quick trips to the laundry room or anywhere with less than 10 mins. of walking, I love the quick convenience of them!

However, when the weather gets colder. I will trade all the flip-flops for boots and more tennis shoes!
