March Manicure

Even though it's March, the weather is still downcast with cool days, so I kept this month's manicure dark and moody, unlike my personality 😉.

Zoya is an amazing nail polish brand, because the formula dries quickly, the colour is well-pigmented, and their products are free of toluene, formaldehyde, DBP and camphor.

This dark color was achieved with only 2 coats! I'm not a huge fan of matte, so I'm glad this black has a slight glimmer to it.

TIP: Buy nail polish in a mini size, because it's cheaper and it's hard to use a full bottle before it goes bad!

My February Manicure

I'm rocking Ciate's Prima Ballerina this month! It's from my mom's nail polish collection and is a soft grey colour.

I had to use 3 coats to make it opaque, so the formula is more watery.

The brush head is small and flat, so it is easy to maneuver.

I sealed it with a top coat from OPI

Weather Official!

Sure the official start of autumn has already passed, but I prefer to dress according to weather and today was the perfect fall day!

Chilly air, peeks of sunshine, and a very cool breeze.

I'm so pumped! Of course I've already transitioned; taken out the fall/winter bag and gave myself a mani.

Color me obsessed with the deep burgundy&rose glitter!
(also experiencing a major ear-cuff affair.. aren't you?!)

To get the more pink-bronze metallic, I used a base coat of the burgundy so it would show more rose gold colored.

Love Pink

When my sister and I went to Victoria's Secret's Semi-Annual Sale, it was madness.

Madness as in I grabbed way too many things and very nearly bought all of them. As my wallet thanked me for not doing so, I delight to share with you my haul

Halter Mesh Bra, 'Flirt' Nail-polish, Navy lace bandeau, Summer Daze Spray (WHY DOES THIS SMELL SO GOOD?!), PINK Spring Break: Jasmine Lime Self-Tan Body Mist

The bandeau, surprisingly, is super versatile! I've been wearing it every weekend with my low-cut, sheer tops. Really helps me keep cool and the lace is too cute.

However, I had a problem with the nail-polish..

It was flaky, too liquid-y, and overall a poor polish. I reckon it might have been the base coat that ruined it, however the polish itself still wasn't all that great.

Sore and sad, I went to exchange it for a 2-in-1 Base Top Coat. Course it does not end there, and I ended up being sucked into an even greater sale (after several days Beauty Products are 75% off and All Bras have an extra 20% off!).

Frozen apple & sparkling cassis smells divine and the left container is a mousse. It looks so good, I would eat it >if it did not caution against it<. The new polish isn't quite oxblood colored, but it sure lives up to its name, 'Do Not Disturb' (and let us not ponder on its name, please).

Review: Nail Polish

With Flash

Without Flash

Pros
  • Cheaper than OPI, $6 a bottle
  • Beautiful matte blue that is close to the color of the passport
  • Without a topcoat, didn't start to chip 'til 2nd day

Cons
  • More expensive
  • Color marks off on paper, wall, book pages, etc. if nail swipes hard enough

Review: Nail Polish

Treat yourself!

I love giving myself manicures. It's relaxing and something productive to do while watching tv!

Wet 'n Wild: Wild Shine- Burgundy Frost, or 412A

Taken with flash.

Taken without flash.

Pros:
  • The color in the bottle matches the color on the nail.
  • Great shimmer effect
  • Dries fast
  • Love the color! It's perfect for Fall and Winter
  • Cheap- Purchased at Walgreens on sale for $0.99!
Cons:
  • Chips easily without a top coat
  • Needs more than 2 coats for color to not be pale.
  • Color rubs off of everything without a top coat
Conclusion: Would purchase again if on sale. Could be a good stocking stuffer!

Busy Body Bee

Since my return to the U.S.ofA., I'm embarrassed to admit that I have yet to find enough room for all of my new buys.

Did I go overboard? Maybe I need to get rid of some old stuff? Should I get some sort of organizing... thing?

All of these questions haunt me so. So, in the meantime, I've just been tackling organization one area after another and otherwise procrastinating relaxing.

Coming Soon: Some of my haul pictures.
Now Playing: Just what I've really been doin'; NAILS.

NYC In a Minute Quick Dry >Clear< Polish, From China, Shisem Silver

Unfortunately, the "mint" is really more sea-foam green so I'm still on my search for the perfect mint nail-polish! Not to fear though, this metallic silver turned out beautifully.

Coming up, a DIY project I did on a whim for the last days of summer. I can't decide between classic white v-neck and color-blocking... Suppose I'll be donning both tops with black skinnies this fall!

Please Forgive That...

... I'm a party hardy animal!

Never have I ever meant to neglect this dear blog of mine, but I'm afraid until this month's over I'll be a living zombie.
Wait... is that an oxymoron? Bah.

BUT, I've been out since this past weekend was PROM!

PROM.

It was also my very first time getting my hair professionally done! My hair's very thick and doesn't hold curls, but with massive hair-spraying and heat-curlers it stayed the whole night!
HALLELUJAH HOT CURLERS *must buy*

No excuses, I'm motivating us all next Monday whether I fail school or not! Hopefully the latter.
