Makeup Minimalist

I'm a self-professed make-up minimalist due to my obsession with skincare. I'd rather spend my resources on skin because:

  1. Skin is our largest organ
  2. I want to be confident barefaced, and
  3. I'm too lazy to apply make-up everyday
But this doesn't mean I don't wear make-up! My current make-up bag holds the following (I've had this make-up bag since high school!):

I prefer keeping my make-up natural, so instead of foundations I use CC creams or BB cushions

TIP: Apply sunscreen after your morning skincare routine and before your first make-up layer!

My mascaras and eyeliners are black or brown. My eye shadows are neutral tones, and my lipsticks don't stray from red, pink, and nudes.

TIP: Keep perfume samples in your makeup bag to remind yourself to freshen up!

Soup and Scarf Weather

I made a cabbage and won-ton soup using miso paste for the soup base. It was tasty with black pepper!

Shorts & Dooney

Before the snow hits (which it surely will this year.. everyone bundle up!) I managed to squeeze in a few more days of being in shorts. Now call me ridiculous but nothing's more comfortable!

Other than going pants-less but that's besides the point.

Also scored a lovely vintage Dooney&Bourke off eBay. Internet shopping sucks me in again! Though I was over the moon hoping it was a white bag like its pictures, it turned out very cream.. Contacted the seller and managed to get some money back. Whew.

Be careful online, ladies and gentlemen!

Guess?

I gave myself a much needed shopping break to a local thrift store, and LO' BEHOLD.

Hidden between a large shoe shelf and puffy jacket sleeve, was an evergreen, tan trimmed 'Guess' cross-body.

I immediately checked all the seams and tags to make sure it was authentic. But I still questioned it, since it's missing a 'Genuine Leather' tag.

So I went to the Internet, of course.

At first, nada. But as I continued scrolling images, I found one with a similar style tagged as a 1990s Guess bag.

I Google that, and I find a near perfect match! After intense research, observation, and questioning, I can safely say that this bag is:

• 1980s [vintage]
• Pebbled Leather
• Original Hardware
• Original, Classic 1980-90s Guess Plaid Lining
• Authentic Guess Logo(s)
• Made in China*

a.k.a. 100% REAL

Pretty cray. But get this, I'm chatting up the owner about the legitimacy of the bag, and out of nowhere, she cuts down the price.

$6.50
Whaddup.

As I polish my newfound goody, I still cannot believe jusssst how real it is. If you have any reason that I should believe otherwise, let me know (or not)!

*some>most Guess bags are actually made in China, including the older ones

p.s. Thank you all so much for putting up with our lack of blogging, everyone has finals and a busy holiday schedule; us included! xx
